The Imsil Cheese Making Experience involves pasteurizing fresh milk, making curds with a coagulant (such as rennet), separating the whey, kneading in hot water, and stretching to create a chewy texture. You can make string cheese or mozzarella cheese yourself, and you can participate in various courses at the Imsil Cheese Theme Park.
Imsil Cheese Making Process (Example: String Cheese)
Milk Preparation & Pasteurization: Freshly squeezed milk is cooled and pasteurized.
Coagulation (Curd Making): Pasteurized milk is coagulated with a coagulant enzyme, such as citric acid or rennet, to form a soft tofu-like consistency.
Curd Cutting & Whey Separation: Cut the hardened curds into cubes and separate them from the whey with a cheese knife, leaving only the cheese mass.
Kneading & Stretching: Add the separated curd mass to hot water and knead and stretch repeatedly until it becomes elastic like rubber.
Shaping: Form the stretched dough into the desired shape (such as string cheese).
